Health Insurance
- Although we don’t accept insurance for your appointment, you may still use it for your blood work, imaging studies, prescriptions, etc.
- Even if our Providers feel that a medication or treatment is medically necessary or appropriate, that does not mean that your insurance company will cover it. You may contact your insurance company to appeal their decision, however we do not have the staff needed to assist with this. Insurance companies want happy customers, so most will go out of their way to keep your business.
Medicare Information
- Currently, all of our Providers have opted out of Medicare. Due to Medicare regulations, you are not allowed to submit claims to Medicare for reimbursement for Providers who are not in-network. However, you may still use your insurance for prescriptions and blood work.

Submitting Your Claim
- Normally, when you see a doctor, their office submits your claim to your insurance. Since we are not in-network with any medical insurance company, we are unable to submit claims to your insurance company.
- After each appointment, you will receive a receipt for rendered services. It will include the cost, appropriate codes, and our company details. If you’d like, you may use this information to request reimbursement from your insurance company. MyThyroidDoctor and its Providers are unable to complete any additional paperwork, compose letters, or contact your insurance company for you.
- Dave Ramsey has a good article explaining the process.
